TOOL ROOM TEAM LEAD / SUPERVISOR – $33–$38/HOUR
Are you an experienced Tool Maker or Machinist looking for an opportunity to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a skilled Tool Room Team Lead/Supervisor to lead tool room activities while continuing to utilize your hands-on technical expertise in a manufacturing environment.
As a Tool Room Team Lead/Supervisor, you will manage the daily activities of the tool room and assigned Tool Makers, ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. This position is responsible for new die builds, die maintenance, prototypes, troubleshooting, and gage and fixture projects.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Supervise and provide direction to assigned Tool Makers
• Assign projects and tasks and prioritize daily work requirements
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, models, prototypes, and specifications
• Plan machining sequences, calculate dimensions, and determine assembly methods
• Set up and operate machine tools including lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders
• Fabricate, fit, assemble, and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and related tooling
• Measure and inspect completed work using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, and other precision measuring equipment
• Install, align, and secure punches, dies, cutting blades, and other fixtures
• Troubleshoot tooling and equipment issues and recommend design modifications when appropriate
• Adjust production equipment and machinery setups
• Heat treat tools and/or parts as required
• Maintain tooling records for usage and repair
• Ensure necessary tools, equipment, and supplies are available
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe tool room and production area
• Operate forklifts, hoists, winches, or other material-handling equipment as needed
• Follow all company safety procedures and policies
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
• Experienced Tool Maker, Machinist, or similar skilled manufacturing professional
• Journeyman certification or equivalent experience preferred
• Associate degree or technical school education in Tool Making, Machine Tool Technology/Machinist, Sheet Metal Technology, or a related field preferred
• Strong blueprint reading and mechanical aptitude
• Experience setting up and operating machine tools
• Strong knowledge of precision measuring tools and inspection processes
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and tooling problems
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently while effectively directing the work of others
• Forklift experience/ability to operate material-handling equipment
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Manufacturing/tool room environment
• 5-day, 40-hour workweek
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Overtime, including nights, weekends, or holidays, may occasionally be required based on production needs
LOCATION: Germantown, WI
PAY: $33–$38/HOUR
