POSITION – Punch Press Operator II
JOB LOCATION – Chippewa Falls, WI
STARTING DATE – Immediate
EMPLOYMENT TERM – Temp-to-Hire
EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time
WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – Weekend Shift (Fri-Sun, 5:45am-6:15pm)
STARTING PAY – Up to $22.50/hour or more, based on experience, plus shift differential

REQUIRED EDUCATION – High School Diploma or equivalent required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – Minimum of 2 years of related experience as a press operator in manufacturing setting, bonus if it was in sheet metal manufacturing and prior work on a punch or brake press
As a Press Operator, you'll be responsible to Operate CNC punch press or CNC brake press equipment to produce precision metal parts by cutting and punching, forming and bending according to specifications. Press Operators are responsible for monitoring machine performance, ensuring proper material supply, and performing routine maintenance to maintain efficient and accurate production.
Responsibilities
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and rulers
- Identify and sort defective parts based on flaw types
- Read work orders to determine specs, materials, and tolerances
- Set up, load, and operate machines; monitor and adjust as needed
- Install and align punches, dies, and fixtures using standard tools
- Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning
- Track production output and complete quality documentation
- De-burr and finish parts as needed
- Report material or equipment issues to supervisors
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area
- Follow safety, quality, and production standards
- Use special tooling (e.g., wheel-ribs, tapping heads) when required
- Operate additional equipment such as plasma cutters and sheet lifters
- Troubleshoot and resolve common issues independently
- Meet or exceed productivity and quality (PPM) goals
- Retain job knowledge and apply to similar tasks
- Cross-train in other work areas and maintain required certifications
- Support preventive maintenance and assist other departments as needed
Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand basic instructions, memos, and simple correspondence
- Ability to write clear and simple messages or notes
- Perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Read and interpret blueprints and work orders accurately
- Apply practical reasoning to follow straightforward written or verbal instructions
