Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Grinder/Polisher to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on role focuses on finishing stainless steel components to a high-quality standard using a variety of grinding and polishing tools. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a commitment to safety and collaboration.
Key Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Proficient in using grinding and polishing equipment, including belt sanders, disc grinders, and finishing tools.
- Skilled in restoring stainless steel welds to a #4 finish.
- Capable of reading and interpreting blueprints to ensure part accuracy and quality.
- Experience working with hand and power tools in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Familiarity with custom manufacturing processes is a plus.
Quality & Inspection
- Ability to inspect workpieces for defects, imperfections, or deviations from specifications.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on meeting quality control standards.
Documentation & Reporting
- Accurately record materials used and time spent on tasks for production tracking.
- Comfortable following structured documentation practices.
Teamwork & Communication
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals.
Safety & Physical Requirements
- Consistently follow safety policies and procedures.
- Capable of lifting and handling materials weighing 15–50 lbs.
- Physically able to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related grinding, polishing, or metal finishing role.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
