CNC Machinist / Programmer – Mills or Lathes

Position: CNC Machinist / Programmer – Mills or Lathes
Location: Augusta, WI
Start: As soon as possible
Term: Long-term
Type: Direct Hire or Temporary-to-Hire
Shift: Night Shift – Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–3:00 AM after day-shift training
Pay: $25.00–$35.00/hour DOE; higher end for CNC programming experience

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience: Minimum 2 years CNC machining experience with mills and/or lathes required
You will set up, adjust, and operate CNC equipment to produce close-tolerance parts while monitoring quality throughout the machining process. CNC programming experience is strongly preferred and will be considered for the higher end of the pay range.
Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate CNC machining equipment
- Program CNC equipment based on experience and skill level
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop travelers, routings, and specifications
- Perform close-tolerance machining operations
- Check inserts and change tooling, sizes, and machine settings as needed
- Perform frequent quality checks to verify parts meet specifications
- Identify and communicate blueprint, routing, traveler, or quality discrepancies
- Troubleshoot machining and quality issues
- Follow established safety, quality, and production procedures
- Participate in cross-training on CNC equipment and processes
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience required
- Experience setting up and operating CNC mills, CNC lathes, or both
- CNC programming experience strongly preferred and considered for the higher end of the pay range
- Mazak experience is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Experience machining parts to close tolerances
- Strong understanding of tooling, inserts, machine adjustments, and quality inspection
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Effective communication skills
- Willingness to learn and cross-train on different CNC equipment
- Must be able to initially train on day shift before transitioning to nights
- Must be available to work Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–3:00 AM after training
- Must be willing to work overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required

You'll work with advanced CNC technology and state-of-the-art machinery and tooling in a clean, organized, air-conditioned shop. On-the-job training and cross-training provide opportunities to continue building your machining skills. This position may be offered as either Direct Hire or Temporary-to-Hire, depending on experience and fit.
