About the Role
The Business Development Executive (BDE) drives economic impact through securing new conference and meeting business opportunities for Monterey County. This role implements data-driven strategies aligned with See Monterey’s vision and goals, focusing on converting qualified leads into definite bookings, with a focus on new business.
This position serves the Central/Northern California region and Pacific Northwest. The role is potentially remote based, with a preferred location within Bay Area.
Role and Responsibilities
• Executes strategic sales plans with measurable outcomes for their territory or market segment.
• Manages sales plan budget and tracks ROI on initiatives.
• Generates and converts qualified leads through
Strategic client outreach
Industry event participation
Digital and telephone prospecting
• Client relationship management
• Coordinates comprehensive bid packages and site visits.
• Delivers data-driven presentations to decision-makers.
• Maintains competitive market intelligence and industry trends analysis.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction.
• Ensures punctuality and adherence to all organizational policies and procedures.
• Plans and executes sales missions, client events and familiarization tours.
• Works closely with stakeholders for collaborative sales efforts.
• Attends occasional meetings at See Monterey office.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
• 5 years DMO or hotel sales experience
• Proven track record in group meetings market
• Demonstrated remote work success
• CMP or industry certification preferred
• Prior CVB experience preferred
• Bay Area client base preferred
• Monterey County market knowledge desired
Job Requirements
• Valid work authorization for the United States
• Driving as an essential job function, candidates must possess a valid driver's license, insurance, and an acceptable motor vehicle record. Alternative forms of transportation and/or accommodations may be considered.
• This position requires travel on a consistent basis to attend industry meetings, conferences, and other events/activities. The ability to travel by car and plane is expected.

· Competitive salary range of $95,000 -$110,000 depending on experience plus up to 20% incentive potential
