HVAC Project Manager
Pay: $95,000 – $135,000 per year
Location: Branford, CT
Our client is seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to oversee and drive the successful execution of commercial HVAC projects from start to finish. This role is responsible for managing schedules, budgets, team coordination, and customer relationships to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Position Overview
The HVAC Project Manager will take full ownership of assigned projects, coordinating across internal teams and subcontractors while maintaining strong communication with customers. This individual will play a key role in ensuring profitability, quality, and overall project success.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all phases of HVAC construction projects including planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules with clear milestones to track progress. Coordinate with internal departments including sales, engineering, drafting, and field operations to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Oversee subcontractors and field teams including piping, sheet metal, controls, and electrical to ensure quality and efficiency.
Monitor project costs, track budgets, and ensure gross margin goals are achieved. Identify and resolve issues proactively to keep projects on track. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong communication and delivering a high level of customer service. Ensure all work meets company standards, project specifications, and quality expectations.
Provide regular updates to leadership on project status, risks, and performance. Participate in project reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes.
Qualifications
Proven experience managing commercial HVAC projects with a strong understanding of installation, service, and building automation systems. Background in construction project management with experience in scheduling, labor management, and job costing. Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines. Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate across teams and stakeholders.
Degree in HVAC technology or related field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience. Minimum of 3 years as an HVAC Project Manager and at least 5 years of experience in the HVAC or construction industry.
