Safety Health and Environmental Specialist
Location: Waco, TX area
Salary up to: $70,000 per year
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire | Monday - Friday | 8a-5p
A leading manufacturing facility in the Waco, TX area is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support safety and environmental compliance in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for helping develop and maintain safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong culture of workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain workplace safety programs
- Conduct safety training and new employee orientations
- Perform job hazard analyses, safety audits, and risk assessments
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations
- Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions
- Assist with workers’ compensation and safety documentation
- Support emergency response planning and safety drills
- Lead safety meetings and encourage employee safety engagement
- Monitor environmental programs including waste handling and hazardous materials
- Maintain safety procedures such as Lockout/Tagout and confined space entry
Qualifications:
- 3 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environments
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
- Experience conducting safety training and audits
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
