As a Restaurant Host at our esteemed establishment, you will be the welcoming face of our restaurant, ensuring that each guest receives a warm and personalized greeting upon arrival. Key Responsibilities
1. Guest Reception and Seating:
- Greet guests warmly and courteously as they arrive.
- Escort guests to their assigned tables, presenting menus and providing brief introductions to the dining experience.
- Manage the seating chart and ensure efficient table turnover while maintaining a balanced flow of guests.
2. Reservations Management:
- Handle phone and online reservations promptly and accurately.
- Confirm reservations and communicate any special requests or dietary needs to the kitchen and serving staff.
3. Customer Service:
- Address guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests with professionalism and efficiency.
- Maintain a polite and positive demeanor even in high-pressure situations.
- Handle guest complaints or issues promptly, escalating to the manager when necessary.
4. Coordination with Staff:
- Collaborate with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations.
- Communicate effectively about any changes in guest seating or special requests.
5. Ambiance and Cleanliness:
- Maintain a tidy and welcoming entrance area, including the hostess stand.
- Monitor the overall appearance of the dining area, ensuring it remains clean and presentable.
6. Administrative Duties:
- Keep accurate records of reservations, guest preferences, and special occasions.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including updating seating charts and guest lists.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality or customer service is a plus.
- Previous experience as a hostess or in a customer service role, preferably in a high-end restaurant.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment.
