Position Summary:
As a Lead Teller, you’ll lead the teller team while actively serving customers, ensuring smooth daily operations and a high standard of service. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday. Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support for teller staff
- Assist customers with deposits, withdrawals, and more complex transactions
- Troubleshoot and resolve teller balancing, transaction, and customer issues
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new teller staff
- Support employee development through regular coaching and performance conversations
- Create schedules and ensure proper branch coverage
- Oversee cash operations, including vault, ATM, and cash recyclers
- Order and manage branch cash levels within established limits
- Promote and refer bank products and services
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and banking regulations
- Maintain accurate records for audits and internal controls
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous customer service and cash-handling experience required
- Prior banking experience strongly preferred
- Leadership or mentoring experience preferred
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Positive, professional attitude with a desire to lead a team
- Comfortable using computers and learning new systems
Working conditions, including physical requirements:
- Work is performed largely within the Bank with limited chance of personal injury. Prolonged and frequent mental, audio, visual, and verbal concentration required in responding to customer requests, computer work and viewing monitors. Fine motor skills to operate mouse and keyboard. Periodic stressful situations in response to multiple priorities within established deadlines. Work hours are generally daytime hours Monday-Friday.
- Must be able to stand and walk the majority of the work shift hours to serve customers at the Teller line and drive-up.
- Must be able to grasp and lift up to 40 pounds infrequently.
- Bending, stooping about 5-10% of the workday depending on the day’s job duties (such as vault counts).
- Serves as a representative of the organization at appropriate functions
