GENERAL SUMMARY - The Retail Market Manager is responsible for operations management and revenue generation within assigned regional branches and provides quality leadership, encouragement and guidance to all branch personnel, while ensuring all branches are focused on creating an exceptional in-branch customer experience.

The Retail Market Manager initiates, directs and participates with Retail Banking Managers in outside business development calls that include prospecting new consumer and commercial business relationships, as well as expand existing relationships. 


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Ensures effective communication of the company’s vision and strategic plan to teammates

· Identifies and implements process improvement initiatives that are necessary for operational efficiency

· Responsible for providing leadership and coaching to all employees within regional branches to ensure maximum performance and attainment of established objectives

  • Remain well-informed with products, services and internal resources offered by the bank in order to effectively guide and lead the regional team while supporting bank initiatives
  • Responsible for balanced growth, servicing and profitability of Bank’s loan and deposit products
  • Responsible for consumer and small business loan performance within the regional branches pertaining to growth, profitability and quality
  • Responsible for coordinating with Branch Administration Manager and Branch Operations Coordinator to ensure internal controls are maintained with a proper emphasis on operational risks
  • Actively involved with each retail branch within assigned region; Responsible for all liaison activities between Senior Management and retail branches; Communicates information between the retail team and appropriate department heads including resolution of operational, deposit and loan exceptions.
  • Responsible for staffing branch team to include: scheduling, hiring, goal setting, performance reviews and ratings, salary reviews, promotional transfers, terminations, training and development

· Resolves product or service problems in accordance with established procedures and regulations by clarifying and determining the cause of the problem, selecting and expediting the best solution, and following up to ensure customer satisfaction

· Builds and maintains productive relationships with co-workers and business referral partners throughout the organization– Financial Services Officers, Insurance, Trust, Mortgage, Financial Counseling 

· Collaborates with Branch Administration Manager to develop and maintain financial center budgets; Manages financial performance of all branches with assigned region by controlling branch expenses and overall profitability; Review and approve all branch expense reimbursement requests

· Provide input to determine best methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance and training to other associates

· Assume an active leadership role in the community by maintaining a presence in organizational and volunteer activities 

  • Responsible for assuring that each branch has a manager that is licensed to solicit, sell and     negotiate insurance on location. In the absence of a permanently assigned, licensed Branch Manager, RMM will assure temporary assignment of another licensed agent to oversee insurance activities at the branch


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises assigned employees and performs administrative duties associated with staff management (e.g., trains employees, delegates work and ensures the completion of same, prepares and publishes work schedule, reviews and approves timesheets, coaches and counsels employees, prepares performance evaluations and conducts evaluation meetings, conducts staff meetings, makes salary and promotional recommendations, participates in recruitment, interview, and hiring process, administers progressive discipline, takes action regarding departmental activities and staff, approves/disapproves requests for leave time, notifies employees of mandatory training and bank meetings). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor's Degree Required

· Proficient computer skills and active engagement in the new technology 

· Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills (both written and oral) 

· Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to derive innovative solutions 

· Demonstrate a "team" attitude toward the bank and coworkers 

· Successful completion of in-house training and orientation 

· Handle sensitive information of the bank and customers in confidence 

· Display a high degree of character and ethics 

· Represent the bank in a professional manner within the community 

· Professional dress and demeanor required

· This position may require occasional travel to various locations for job related business


PREFERENCES

· Five years prior bank management and consumer lending experience

· Three years prior commercial lending experience


SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

· Ability to assist customers with digital banking offerings

· Strong customer focus

· Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
