JOB DESCRIPTION:
Role Overview
Security Engineers is seeking dedicated Unarmed Patrol Security Officers to help maintain safe and secure environments for our clients. Officers play a vital role in deterring incidents through visibility, vigilance, and proactive engagement. Responsibilities include patrolling, monitoring access points, verifying identification, responding to alarms/emergencies, and maintaining detailed logs. This role requires professionalism, strong observational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have or be able to obtain a Valid North Carolina Guard Card as required by the state licensing authority
- Valid driver’s license and a Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Have or ability to obtain CPR/1st AED
- Ability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
- Must pass a drug test and background check
- Customer service experience
- Willing to adhere to all client and SEI policies and procedures
Duties & Responsibilities
Patrol & Surveillance
- Conduct walking and vehicle patrols to identify and report safety concerns
- Monitor access points; verify IDs and credentials
- Monitor surveillance systems for threats or suspicious activity
- Incident Response & Reporting• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents per protocol
- Maintain accurate logs of activities and incidents
- Perform routine security tasks (e.g., locking/unlocking doors)
Customer Service & Policy Enforcement
- Assist visitors and employees professionally
- Enforce site-specific Post Orders and security protocols
- Ensure compliance with SEI and client policies (e.g., smoking, loitering, parking)
Required Skills & Abilities
Minimum
- Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong situational awareness and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in critical situations
- Basic computer skills; ability to use tablets for reporting
Preferred• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Requirements (subject to change based on client-specific needs)
- Stand/sit for at least 1 hour without break
- Walk a minimum of ½ mile without stopping
- Climb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stopping
Education & Experience
Minimum• High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred
- 1 years verifiable Military, Law Enforcement or Security Experience
- 2 years of verifiable customer service experience
