Responsibilities
The Escrow Assistant is a key position that supports the team by gathering necessary information and documents for escrow closings; and maintaining records and accounts. Specific job responsibilities include:
- Welcomes and greets customers and visitors, in person or on the telephone.
- Maintains files and documents.
- Sends out appropriate correspondence.
- Researches records.
- Performs clerical duties such as filing, faxing, mailings, etc.
- Schedules real estate closings and obtains any necessary documents or information to complete the transaction.
- Prepares files per real estate contract and title commitment as well as any necessary escrow documents and other title-related documents
- Protects customers’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Disburse the file as required after each closing, if requested.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel on occasion as needed.
- The ability to obtain a Title Insurance License is required within your first 6 months of employment – the company will provide assistance if needed.
- 1-3 years of previous experience in title insurance, lending, or real estate is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.
- Strong customer service, communication, and attention to detail.
- Dependability, strong work ethic and punctuality are a must.
- Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast paced environment.
