Security Officer - Plattsburgh, NY

We are currently hiring a full-time Security Officer for a unique split-site schedule in Plattsburgh, NY. This role includes shifts at two separate locations with different responsibilities and pay rates. Reliable transportation is required, as shift times and site locations do not align with public transit schedules. This position includes a split-site schedule totaling 40 hours per week. At the residential site in Plattsburgh, the officer will work Saturdays and Sundays from 0800–1600 (8:00 AM–4:00 PM) at a pay rate of $18.00 per hour. The remaining shifts take place at an office-style gate access site in Plattsburgh, where the officer will work Monday through Wednesday from 2300–0700 (11:00 PM–7:00 AM) at a pay rate of $17.00 per hour. Residential Responsibilities: • Conduct hourly 20-minute walking tours to monitor the premises. • Report suspicious behavior and notify law enforcement of illegal substances or criminal activity. • Monitor CCTV footage for security concerns. • Respond to resident issues, complaints, or disturbances professionally. • Write clear, accurate reports on incidents, complaints, and daily activity. • Work cooperatively with housing staff and residents to maintain a safe environment. ________________________________________ Access Control Responsibilities: • Sit at the entrance gate to monitor and control access to the property. • Verify that individuals entering and exiting the site are authorized. • Use technology and paper logs to document access activity accurately. • Maintain a professional presence and provide excellent customer service. • Observe and report any unusual or suspicious behavior. ________________________________________ Qualifications: • Strong customer service and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and remain alert throughout all shift types. • Excellent attention to detail when completing logs and reports. • Ability to stay calm and professional during conflicts or high-pressure situations. • Experience with CCTV systems is a plus. • Prior security experience preferred but not required. ________________________________________ If you are reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working in both residential and access control security environments, we encourage you to apply for this split-site Security Officer position.
