Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of office areas, including desks, floors, windows, restrooms, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies
- Handle chemical agents safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures to prevent accidents or contamination
- Conduct sanitation procedures to ensure restrooms and kitchen areas meet health standards
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as replacing supplies, minor repairs, or painting as needed in residential or commercial settings
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities, including heavy lifting and manual handling practices
- Maintain cleaning logs and report any facility maintenance issues promptly to ensure continuous operational efficiency
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning techniques
- Skilled in handling cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and chemical sprayers
- Strong understanding of chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation standards
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary
- Experience in custodial work within facilities maintenance or Porter roles preferred
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to facilities maintenance, chemical handling safety procedures, and industrial cleaning practices
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards
