Intern-Claims Legal Law Student

Perform legal research for members of the Claims Legal team. During the summer, this position is full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) preferably in the home office. There may also be an opportunity to work flexible, part-time hours (approximately 15-20 hours per week) remotely during the school year and up to 40 hours per week during school breaks.

Responsibilities

• Perform legal research for members of the Claims Legal team
• Draft legal correspondence
• Organize, label, analyze, and summarize legal documents
• Maintain databases & spreadsheets
• Assist with review of legal fees and costs
• Other duties and projects as assigned within the Claims Legal team
  
  

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Basic computer software knowledge (word processing, e-mail, accessing and updating databases)
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize work
• Ability to work independently
• PREFERRED:
• Currently working toward a pre-law or law degree
• Prior office experience
• Understanding of legal terminology
• Ability to analyze case law, contracts, regulations, and insurance policy language
