Director of Finance And Operations

Secretlab is an international gaming chair brand seating over three million users worldwide, with our key markets in the United States, Europe and Singapore, where we are headquartered.

Our Finance Director will be the operational and financial backbone to our US business. You will be a Finance leader, trusted to partner HQ with your commercial understanding while providing operational oversight for the US office, of which you will be the senior-most member. Beyond the traditional boundaries of Finance, you will also be a key representative of the company to its external stakeholders, professional advisors, and relevant regulators/ authorities.

Our Finance team is essential for ensuring that Secretlab continues delivering at a world-class level on all our initiatives; including collaborative efforts with world-renowned brands such as Game of Thrones, Batman, Cloud9, Team Secret, as well as international esports organisers such as Riot Games for their League of Legends global tournaments.

Responsibilities

• Together with your team, deliver timely and accurate accounting, reporting, and financial operations for Secretlab US.
• Lead accurate monthly and year-end financial closing processes, balance sheets, P&L reporting, cash-flow visibility, and management reporting to provide the leadership with a clear understanding of US market performance.
• Monitor the multi-state sales tax nexus, and coordinate with external advisors on federal and state corporate tax filings, along with other regulatory requirements
• Establish and maintain appropriate financial controls, processes, systems, and reporting structures as the business scales.
• Partner with leadership decision making with advisory on commercial finance and corporate strategy
• Lead and/ or support contractual reviews and negotiations with key suppliers, service providers, landlords.
• As the senior-most member in the US office, provide leadership to the team and work with our HQ team to ensure that the US office is adequately supported.
• Proactively identify operational, financial, regulatory, or other business risks – you will partner HQ on significant incidents or crisis-management.
• You will be a professional representative of the company in commercial, financial, and other regulatory matters.

Requirements

• You should be a CPA-qualified Finance veteran with at least 3-5 years' experience in a Controller/ Finance Director role with an organization of similar scale and/ or context.
• Your proficiency in Accounting should be undoubted at this point – you have strong working knowledge of US GAAP, US financial reporting, and can navigate multi-state sales tax requirements.
• Technologically-savvy, having integrated technologies into your workflow. You should have successfully leveraged Financial Systems (Netsuite preferred)
• You should have valuable experiences working with an ecommerce/ omnichannel consumer business with global exposure. If you’ve had the privilege of scaling a company through its growth stages — all the better.
