Description

Manage overall operations and is responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, and quality control of a start-up location. Facility maintenance and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Department. Key responsibility to drive the core values of the SECO organization with employees, management staff, customers, carriers, and vendors. Primary responsibilities are focused on management staff development and the impact in the core functional areas of overall safety, labor management, quality, customer service, and controllable costs for the facility. Expectation to collaborate directly with senior leadership on the development of strategies to enhance the value and cost-effectiveness of all outcomes within the functional area of operation and participates in decision making through this collaboration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Function as senior facility operations leader in support of Senior Vice President of Operations.
  • Responsible for overall safety & security of facility and its employees.
  • Ensure superior team building culture & a positive employee experience and retention through his/her management staff.
  • Support Human Resources activities to include new hire orientation, training, retention, disciplinary issues and employee development through a close collaboration and alignment with the Human Resources Department.
  • Maintain an excellent level of customer and carrier knowledge to promote partnership with the customer and carrier base. Detailed involvement in customer interactions, updates, forecasts, and performance metrics results.
  • Plan and oversee strategic, operational programs, projects, and services of broad significance to the organization within the functional area of focus.
  • Establishes and implements short- and long-range operational goals, objectives, and strategic plans; monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement.
  • Provides professional guidance and a transfer of operational knowledge to senior leadership and his/her management team with expertise on specified areas of focus.
  • Develop strategies to improve safety, quality, processes, productivity, and technology. Drive accountability of operations management team for key metrics goal attainment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional groups

Education

High school Diploma or GED required

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management or Transportation and Logistics

Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other graduate degree preferred

Experience

Preferred 3-5 years’ experience with emphasis on Logistics Operations and/or Service Supply Chain

Working Conditions

  • The role frequently requires standing and walking throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds as needed.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions on a continual basis.
  • Exposure to consistently loud noise levels in the work environment.

Must be able to execute all the above functions and meet all the above demands safely, posing no threat to themselves or those around them while doing so, and must willingly comply with applicable safety regulations in the completion of all work.
