Armed Safety Manager

SEC SHIELD is looking for an Armed Safety Manager that will be assigned to Our Lady of Victory Catholic School in Northville, MI. This is a 9-month position that will follow the student school schedule consisting of 170 days and will also require an additional 7 days of training annually.

Qualifications:

• Prior law enforcement or military experience required.
• Must meet firearm standards as established by SEC SHIELD.
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, school staff, community, and public safety authorities.
• Ability to physically manage student altercations.
• Experience with crowd control/security.
• Awareness of a variety of illegal substances.
• Ability to work with administration, staff, community members, students and safety/security personnel in a cooperative manner.
• Appropriate training and preparation to meet position requirements or willingness to participate in required training.
• Ability to use/learn related technology tools (i.e., security cameras).
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as SEC may find appropriate and acceptable.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Provide awareness and basic school safety training for appropriate School District staff, as requested by the District’s Designee.
• Assist with emergency operations planning and deployment.
• Monitor student activity in all areas of campus, both inside and outside.
• Supervise campus and lunch room area.
• Refer discipline, security, and attendance situations to appropriate personnel.
• Provide incident management and ongoing safety/security consultation as needed.
• Provide appropriate emergency training and other SEC training to staff as needed.
• Enforce all district policies and procedures related to safety and security.
• Assist with traffic control and supervision during drop-off and pick-up times.
• Evaluate policies, procedures, and infrastructure to assess any gaps in security measures.
• Supervise extra-curricular functions at the district’s request.
• Complete incident report forms when Safety Manager intervention is required.
• Ensure parking guidelines are followed during the school day and when supervising extra-curricular activities.
• Escort students to their classroom or administration office when arriving late or are wandering the halls.
• Maintain SHIELD certification by participating in annual training.
• Coordinate and collaborate with the school resource officer as appropriate.
• Other safety and security duties as assigned by SEC SHIELD/School District designee.

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
