What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pest Control Specialist position at SeaWorld San Antonio?
What you get to do:
- Perform tasks related to the identification and treatment of landscape and other pests and weeds
- Occasionally perform diverse horticultural, grounds keeping and greenhouse tasks including but not limited to watering, weeding, planting, transplanting, pruning, mulching, and mowing
- Maintains documentation and inventory of chemicals utilized
- Assist management in training and advising ambassadors on technical aspects of Pest Control duties and grounds keeping operations
- Consistently maintains pesticide application equipment
- Operate equipment: mowers, augers, trimmers, shears, tillers, utility carts, water tanks, tractors, forklift, etc.
- Responsible for truck and trailer operation
- Responds to pest control calls with exceptional guest service
- Coordinates treatments with various departments
- Perform cleaning tasks so as to maintain a safe, clean professional workplace and other miscellaneous duties as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
What it takes to succeed:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years old
- Possession of a valid state driver’s license
- Able to obtain a non-commercial license through the SPCS within first 90 days of employment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Able to bend, kneel and climb repetitively
- Able to lift, push and pull 50 pounds
- Comfortable working with insects/reptiles/rodents
- Comfortable with heights
- Comfortable working around chemicals
- Comfortable working around fumes/dust/odor
- Comfortable with exposure to noise, vibrations and motion
- Able to train on and properly use protective gear
- Able to work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions and temperature extremes
- Available to work varying shifts/hours based on business need, to include weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Shifts are between 6:00am-3:30pm, likely Friday-Monday.
- Able to work independently and have flexibility to work successfully in a team environment when needed
- A current Texas Certified Applicators License strongly preferred
- Previous pest control experience strongly preferred
- Experience in identifying pests and determining control measures as well as mixing applying, clean-up and recording all pest control operations preferred
Compensation: $18.00 per hour
