Position Summary: The Guest Services Supervisor is responsible for supervising front-of-house guest services operations for events across the SCC campus, ensuring safe, efficient, and professional movement of guests within multiple facilities. This position develops and manages weekly staffing schedules based on event activity and attendance levels, and provides direct supervision of full-time Guest Services staff and on-call Admission Attendants. The Guest Services Supervisor directs event-day operations related to crowd management, access control, and guest assistance, and works in coordination with Event Managers, Event Logistics, Security, and other departments to support successful event execution. This role exercises operational judgment during live events, ensures compliance with safety procedures and labor agreements, and performs supervisory duties.
Guest Services Supervisor Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervise front-of-house guest services operations for events across multiple SCC facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and professional guest movement.
- Develop and manage weekly staffing schedules based on event activity, attendance levels, and operational requirements to ensure accurate staffing coverage for all events.
- Direct the operation of guest ingress, egress, badge checking, and crowd management activities during events.
- Supervise full-time Guest Services staff and on-call Admission Attendants, including scheduling, training, evaluation, and discipline in accordance with SCC policies and labor agreements.
- Monitor staffing levels during events and make real-time adjustments to maintain safe and efficient operations.
- Conduct routine inspections of guest services workstations, staff appearance, and assigned areas to ensure compliance with SCC standards.
- Review and approve payroll, timekeeping adjustments, and leave requests for assigned staff.
- Coordinate with Event Managers, Event Logistics, and other departments to plan and implement crowd management and event access control procedures.
- Participate in pre-event and post-event meetings to ensure accurate communication of guest services requirements.
- Ensure adherence to SCC operating policies, safety procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Implement event logistics plans related to guest services, including crowd flow, access control, and public safety procedures.
- Coordinate with outside staffing agencies to secure supplemental personnel when required and within approved budgets.
- Maintain records related to staffing, scheduling, training, and event operations.
- Maintain a work schedule that provides appropriate supervision of event staff, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SCC policies and applicable laws.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in Hospitality, Event Management, Business, Public Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two (2) years of experience in guest services, event operations, venue operations, transportation, security, or related field.
- Experience working in a live event, public facility, or customer service environment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide lead direction or supervise staff in an operational setting preferred.
- Experience developing or coordinating staff schedules.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required by event activity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a convention center, arena, stadium, or similar public venue preferred.
- Experience working with on-call or event-based staff preferred.
- Experience with crowd management, guest services, or event access control preferred. *Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
