Seattle Central College is looking to hire a Program Specialist in Workforce Education.
Salary Range for this position is $46,176 to $60,120 annually (depending on experience).

Position Summary
Under the guidance of the Director of Workforce Services, the Program Coordinator will have the responsibility of providing comprehensive assistance to the Workforce Services office, which encompasses the Opportunity Grant, WorkFirst, Basic Food Employment & Training (BFET), Worker Retraining, and Veteran Service, Basic Needs Program, Student Emergency Assistance Grant (SEAG) programs. As a Workforce Services Program Coordinator, you will have a central role in delivering exceptional customer service to both new and ongoing students, encompassing tasks such as responding to inquiries, handling phone calls, and extending a welcoming reception to students. Furthermore, your duties will involve overseeing WorkFirst work study students, gathering crucial data for generating reports and invoices, preparing vouchers, making recommendations on program improvements, offering support to Workforce Advisors, promoting Workforce grants, and ensuring that grant activities align with state and federal regulations.
It is important to note that this position is funded by grants and is dependent on the availability of funding.
This position supervises 2-5 Work Study Students.
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by WFSE.¿

What you will be working on:
- Provide support to the Workforce Service Office with respect to administrative matters. Assist with the smooth operation of the office. Interact with individuals at various levels within Seattle Central College as well as the public whenever necessary.
- Provide day-to-day problem solving for departmental personnel and students.
- Offer excellent customer service to both new and continuing students, addressing their questions and concerns, handling phone calls, and providing accurate information and guidance.
- Organize work by reading, routing and answering correspondence; collecting, maintaining and prioritizing information; managing department procedures and telecommunications; updating records and inventory; assigning and monitoring student workers.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of the P-Card and analysis of previous and anticipated spending on these funds. Track expenditure on department.
- Maintain office supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
- Collaborate closely with Workforce Advisors, providing administrative support to help them assist students effectively.
- Assist in understanding, implementing, and adhering to federal and state regulations, policies, and procedures related to Workforce grants.
- Maintains department schedules by keeping calendars for department personnel, arranging meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and travel.
- Accept deliveries and disseminate mail. Ensure timely notification to recipient(s).
- Create and update front desk manual
- Represent Workforce Services and Seattle Central College in various college activities, staff meetings, and external gatherings.
- Prepare and reconcile travel and reimbursement for Workforce Service staff.
- Maintain and created Workforce Flyers
- Monitor and review spending estimates, progress reports, and budget changes, authorizing necessary requests and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Provide support in financial analyses, forecasting, insights, and other specialized reporting to support transparency, fiscal responsibility, and decision-making processes within the department.
- Monitor and track Student Attributes in CTC Link
- Schedule meetings and appointments as directed.
- Monitor and review spending estimates, progress reports, and budget changes, authorizing necessary requests and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Monitor and support with preparing BFET and WorkFirst invoice process to the SBCTC.
- Perform additional duties as needed to ensure the smooth functioning of the Workforce Services Department.

- High school graduation or equivalent and two years of experience in Administration Or equivalent education.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, colleagues and staff representing diverse community.

- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
