Role Overview
A Maintenance Technician for vacation rental business is responsible for keeping multiple short-term rental properties in safe, functional, and guest-ready condition. This role blends hands-on repair work with operational coordination, ensuring properties meet high service standards and guest expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose and fix issues with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and other systems across multiple properties.
- Routine Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs such as drywall, tile, painting, fixture replacement, and basic carpentry.
- Guest & Owner Support: Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and owners, minimizing disruption to bookings.
- Property Readiness: Coordinate with cleaning and property management teams to prepare homes for guest arrival, ensuring full functionality.
- Inventory & Supplies: Manage and track inventory (linens, toiletries, essentials) and restock as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance requests, and inspections using work order or maintenance software.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with third-party vendors for major repairs or replacements.
- Seasonal Tasks: Support seasonal property tasks like winterizing or preparing for peak rental periods.
- Flexible Schedule: Must be able to work weekends
- On-Call Availability: Participate in on-call rotations for urgent after-hours issues.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general handyman work
- Experience in vacation rental or short-term property maintenance preferred .
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites while staying organized
- Excellent communication skills for guest, staff, and vendor interactions

Work Environment
This is a onsite role, often requiring daily or multiple daily visits to different properties utilizing resort supplied golf carts. The technician must be adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to work in varied environments, from luxury vacation rentals to company owned retail establishments to inland rentals.
