Position: Non-Destruct Test TechnicianLocation: Santa Ana CA Duration: Direct Hire/ Fulltime 1st shift : 6am – 2:30pm with OT 1-2 HRS Salary: $25.00/hr. or DOE Position Summary:The primary responsibility of the Certified Non-Destruct Test Technician Level 2 is totest and inspect parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methodsand techniques including radiography, ultrasound, penetrant, eddy current, laserstereography and magnetic particle. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Essential functions are the core duties or tasks that the employee will perform. List theduties that are central to performing the most basic functions of the job.Adherence to safety procedures/guidelines at all times.Maintain safety precautions at all times.Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.Perform specific inspections and specific evaluations for acceptance or rejectiondeterminations according to written instructions and to record results.Perform NDT Examinations in conjunction with receipt and in-processinspections on material purchased for use in fabrication.Familiar with the tools and equipment and shall have demonstrated proficiencyin their use.Capable of determining the calibration status of inspection and measuringequipment is in proper condition for use, and that inspection, examination andtest procedures are approved.Capable of assisting production in the set-up of material and/or components forreceipt inspection, as required.Train other individuals as required by management.Physical Demands & Abilities:Must demonstrate the ability to read the equivalent of the size and letters of theJaeger I chart at a minimum distance of 12 inches and distinguish anddifferentiate the contrasts between colour illustrated on an Ishihara Test Chart.Inspection personnel shall be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise moveobjects weighing up to 50 pounds.May work alone with minimal supervision or with other personnel.Inspection personnel shall possess fundamental written and verbalcommunication skills.Inspection personnel shall be fluent (written and verbal) in the English language.Computer skills, especially familiarity with MS Office applications, are necessary.Comfortable working in fast paced team environment.Supports:Quality Control Manager, Shop Managers, Production Supervisors, Product LineManagers. Required Education:Required: High School diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of inspection relatedexperience.Preferred: 2 years of inspection related experience.Minimum And Preferred Qualifications:Must be qualified to be certified as a Level 2 to NAS 410 in one or more of thefollowing NDT Methods that will be utilized:Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI).Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI).Certifications MUST be current.Ability to communicate, read, and understand English.Ability to read blue prints/drawingsAbility to follow precise instructions.Ability to work around hazardous chemicals.Must have excellent hand/eye coordination.Ability to work well with others as part of a team.Able to multi-task and open to working overtime.
