Position OverviewThe Benefits Administrator / HR Operations Specialist will support day-to-day HR operations with a strong focus on benefits administration, employee record management, reporting, and confidential HR support. This role operates behind the scenes but interacts regularly with employees, managers, and HR partners, requiring a polished, professional, and service-oriented demeanor. The ideal candidate brings hands-on benefits experience, exceptional Excel skills, and the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesBenefits AdministrationAdminister employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement plans.Process enrollments, terminations, changes, and qualifying life events accurately and in a timely manner.Serve as a resource for employees and HR staff regarding benefits questions, issue resolution, and policy clarification.Ensure compliance with benefit-related regulations and internal policies.Employee Records & HR DocumentationMaintain accurate and confidential employee files, digital records, and HR documentation.Manage employee data within HRIS systems, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance.Handle confidential information with discretion and high attention to detail.Reporting & AnalyticsGenerate recurring and ad hoc HR and benefits reports using advanced Excel features (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas, data validation, etc.).Track metrics related to benefits utilization, enrollment trends, leave programs, and compliance needs.Partner with HR leadership to provide data insights that support decision-making.HR Support & Employee InteractionAct as a behind-the-scenes support partner for HR team members across multiple locations.Assist employees with questions related to benefits, HR policies, and record updates.Work closely with HR to support onboarding, audits, compliance initiatives, and process improvements.QualificationsRequired: Previous experience as a Benefits Administrator or in a dedicated benefits operations role.Strong understanding of employee benefits processes, compliance requirements, and file management.Advanced Excel skills — non-negotiable (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, reporting).Experience working with HRIS systems and handling confidential employee documentation.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a “jump in and help” mindset.Strong problem-solving abilities with the ability to work independently and proactively.Professional and outgoing demeanor suited for regular interaction with employees and HR colleagues.Ability to maintain discretion, confidentiality, and high accuracy in all tasks.
