Role Summary
We are seeking an Innovation Product Manager to lead discovery, ideation, and early-stage development of new insurance and benefits products. This role centers on uncovering unmet needs within small and medium-sized businesses—particularly owners and higher-earning employees—while researching industry trends, evaluating emerging technologies, and designing forward-thinking insurance solutions.
You will bring structure to innovation efforts by testing new ideas, piloting concepts, and positioning validated solutions for broader rollout. This role is highly cross-functional, partnering with marketing, sales, operations, legal, and client service teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Research emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive activity in the insurance and benefits markets.
- Identify gaps and opportunities to serve small business clients with innovative insurance solutions.
- Generate, validate, and prioritize new product concepts aligned with strategic growth goals.
- Develop business cases, product briefs, and market analyses for new offerings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design, prototype, and test early-stage concepts.
- Lead pilots to evaluate product-market fit, feasibility, and ROI.

Qualifications
- 5 years in product management, innovation, or strategy roles.
- 2 years of experience in insurance, employee benefits, or related financial-protection products.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Familiarity with product management frameworks and early-stage product development.
- Experience supporting or working within small and medium-sized business markets.
- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong foundation in customer research, prototyping, and product-market fit analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Analytical skills to assess feasibility, demand, and ROI.
- Experience with digital tools supporting insurance or financial planning is a plus.
