What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting & HR Manager position at Search Services?
Essential Functions:
· Human Resources
o Oversees payroll processing.
o Supports compliance efforts by managing documentation collection and input, including but not limited to new hire paperwork, E-Verify, payroll, Safeguarding God’s Children, worker’s compensation, and HR related records. Responsible for assuring agency compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
o Inputs new hire information in the HRIS or benefits systems.
o Assists/Ensures that human resource files and records are securely maintained in accordance with legal requirements and Episcopal High Schools’ policies and procedures.
o Ensure compliance with all plans with all federal, state and local applicable laws and statutes, i.e. HIPPA, EEOC, ERISA, and IRS guidelines.
o Assists in employee benefits administration and ensures effective and timely communication.
o Serve on Retirement Plan Fiduciary Committee, and other committees as requested.
o Assists with related special HR projects like DASL, and Biometric Screening, as needed.
· Accounting
o Assists in Annual Audit.
o Assist Controller in Budget/Projection preparation process by preparing revenue projects and variance analysis for certain accounts, generating reports, and preparing budget package.
o Ensures accuracy and propriety of all financial data and reports.
o Processes monthly billings from insurance providers. Reviews, transmits, and reconciles billings for accuracy and code for payments.
o Records compensation and benefits items in the General Ledger
o Coordinate the filing of Form 5578 for non-discrimination filing.
o Manages school corporate spending cards.
o Assist in month end close, including revenue and expense reporting.
o Assists with related special accounting projects, as needed.
Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution, preferably in Accounting, Human Resources, or similar field.
· 3-5 years’ experience in Accounting or HR.
· Knowledge of Paycom or Veracross a plus.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite and database applications.
· Must have strong attention to detail; demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
· Must have a professional demeanor.
· Highly prefer education industry experience or similar non-profit work.
Qualifications:
· Must demonstrate competency with basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
· Comfortable working with/learning new technologies.
· Attention to detail; demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of human resource records and faculty and staff information.
· Solid customer service nature.
· Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines.
· Self-starter who can work independently to problem-solve.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
· Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
· Generally, works in standard office conditions and climate.
· Works in a fast-paced environment dealing with a wide variety of deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
· Works with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
· Works at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
