Extrusion Machine, Line Utility (Night Shift)
Responsible for the safe and efficient production on the extrusion line during shift, producing quality products that meet or exceed customer requirements. Assumes Operator responsibilities in absence of the Operator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working with the Extrusion Operator and Assistants to complete machine start-up, making needed adjustments for temperature and die opening, and monitors finished product to be certain quality is acceptable.
• Periodically checks product and various machining gauges, making necessary adjustments as required to be sure color, dimensions and uniformity are acceptable.
• When necessary, changes rolls of finished product and places finished roll in storage area
• Follows good manufacturing practices to ensure product safety. Uses care and caution in the operation of all machines to allow for safety of self as well as other operators and helpers.
• Makes changeovers when going from one product run to another, which may require buffing melt rolls and cleaning other equipment
• Reports any machine problems that cannot readily be repaired to Operator
• Keeps machinery and work area neat and clean.
• Notifies designated personnel of any machine problems and may assist in their resolution.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Intermittently standing 12 hours on concrete floors
• Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Use of overhead cranes and forklifts
• Physical ability to climb and work on or around machinery
• Visual acuity to written material.
• Walking, squatting, crouching, turning, twisting, stretching. climbing steps, grabbing, pulling pushing, repetitive movement & bending sometimes in awkward positions.
• Typical environment of manufacturing and production facilities.
• Exposure includes but is not limited to continuous noise, scent of materials and machinery with moving parts.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Must have 1 year solid work history with prior experience within manufacturing setting preferred
