  • Oversee design, development, and integration of cyber hunt kits and related capabilities, ensuring alignment with DoD customer requirements and operational objectives.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface with government customers and program stakeholders, translating mission needs into system requirements and engineering deliverables.
  • Lead architectural and technical decision-making across the full system lifecycle, including hardware, software, and network components.
  • Monitor and assess the health of deployed systems; drive continuous improvement through operational feedback and emerging threat intelligence.
  • Support DCO mission planning activities, applying deep knowledge of threat hunting, incident response, and network defense to inform technical priorities.
  • Manage funding, contract oversight, and performance metrics for engineering efforts supporting JCHK program objectives.
  • Author and review operational, strategic, and technical documentation including system requirements, engineering plans, and program status reports.
  • Travel CONUS and OCONUS as needed to engage directly with end customers and support program activities at mission partner locations (up to 10%).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph.
  • 20 years of progressive professional experience
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, or Mathematics; or 24 years of progressive professional experience without a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and directing technical teams on national security or DoD programs, including setting priorities, managing personnel, and overseeing engineering execution.
  • Direct experience with Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO), including knowledge of DCO mission frameworks, threat hunting methodologies, and cyber defense system design.
  • Software development experience, either hands-on or through direct oversight of software engineering efforts on classified programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer requirements into system engineering plans and executable technical deliverables.
  • Experience managing contracts, budgets, and cross-functional teams in a government or DoD contractor environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to brief technical and executive-level audiences clearly and concisely.
  • Experience supporting USCYBERCOM or other Combatant Command cyber programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in cybersecurity, either security product development and/or security operations tools like Elastic, Splunk, Security Onion, etc.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, or Mathematics.
  • Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, GIAC GCDA, GCTI, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms, including Splunk or ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) stack implementation and optimization.
  • Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework and its application to DCO analytics, threat detection, and incident response workflows.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and hybrid on-premise/cloud architectures supporting national security systems.
