Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex network and telecom architecture initiatives
- Troubleshoot advanced network issues and perform root cause analysis
- Implement and manage network access control and security policies
- Configure and manage firewalls, including application-layer controls
- Design and implement network segmentation and micro-segmentation strategies
- Deploy and maintain secure wireless infrastructure
- Manage external connectivity including VPNs and vendor integrations
- Support load balancers and WAF tools to ensure secure and highly available systems
- Develop monitoring and alerting solutions to manage network performance
- Perform scheduled maintenance including backups and patching
- Track and report network performance and availability metrics
- Maintain detailed network documentation and share knowledge across the team
- Lead network-related projects from planning through execution
- Improve internal processes, standards, and procedures
- Partner with security teams to implement security controls and ensure regulatory compliance (including NIST 800-53 and HIPAA)
- Support cloud migration initiatives
- Maintain service levels and analyze trends for capacity planning
- Evaluate and recommend hardware, software, and vendor solutions
- Provide infrastructure support and contribute to special projects
- Stay current with emerging technologies and complete ongoing training
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a 24x7 production environment
- Strong experience with network engineering across WAN/LAN and cloud environments
- Hands-on experience with next-generation firewalls (Palo Alto preferred), including VPNs and threat prevention
- Experience with AWS cloud networking and infrastructure
- Proficiency with Terraform or other infrastructure as code tools
- Experience with routing, switching, and network protocols
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Network certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, PCNSA, or PCNSE
