Compliance with applicable internal and external governing requirements.
That any operations do not exceed the limitations of the unit or its equipment.
Daily detailed planning is conducted for all upcoming operations.
Good and clear communications with all involved parties.
Compliance with Seadrill training, certification and competence requirements.
That all relevant personnel are adequately trained in handling emergencies.
That all emergency equipment is in good condition and configured as required.
Non-compliances are promptly acted on and reported to the direct supervisor.
Training and competence assessments as assigned and/or required are performed.
Compliance with the standard for tidiness and cleanness.
Assume the safety role as per station bill and emergency preparedness plan.

JOB SUMMARY  
Overall objective of the role is to be a visible and engaged champion of the rig’s HSE compliance and performance to drive safe and efficient operations, contributing to overall HSE performance improvement.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES  
PIMED Task Process:
Act as the on-board Champion supporting the consistent and persistent application of the PIMED process across all crews and departments
Active and visible interactions with offshore management and crews via a direct ‘boots on deck’ approach, and with shore-based management (HSE and Rig Manager) in accordance with guidance from supervisor
Actively support Start Safe HSE programs.

Seadrill Management System (SMS):
Champion of HSE and Operational Discipline including core areas of:
Seadrill Safe Actions
Major Accident Hazard Management
Human Factors and Crew Resource Management
Environmental Management and Reporting
Maintain currency and familiarity with the SMS to support coaching and mentoring the crew and overall rig compliance with all HSE Polices, Directives and Procedures
Responsible for carrying out monthly Audits to verify rig compliance to core HSE requirements and provide support to other internal and external HSE Audits (Including ISM, Area HSE, Regulatory, Customer HSE Audits), and the close-out of Company-level Audits
Supports the Rig on HSE matters, provides professional knowledge in and helps facilitate understanding and acting on implementation of HSE, ISM compliance, regulatory, customer/contractual requirements, and Seadrill’s HSE Management System
Supports in active collaboration as an integral part of the Area HSE team and HSE Function
Complete limited Preventive Maintenance tasks (PMs) associated with Safety Equipment and PPE
Identify areas of non-compliance and escalate as required to verify that issues are understood, managed, and monitored through correction
Highlight possible improvement areas to Supervisors

Continual Improvement
Active collaboration with onboard rig management team to identify support areas/opportunities in the daily Control of Work meeting
Proactively identifying and communicating lessons learned, opportunities for improvement and best practices to line management to ensure continuous improvement
Engage with necessary stakeholders to support implementation of Red Rig Recovery Plans
Lead or support incident investigations as directed to identify causation and corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Share industry best practices, lessons learned, safety and environmental alerts, as necessary
Support Rig leadership team to verifiy the effective implementation and sustainability of the STAR Behavioural Based Safety Program, and coach the rig teams on the criticality of engaged STAR conversations and STAR Drills
In collaboration with HSE and Rig Management, execute and monitor Rig HSE plans.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Offshore HSE or 4 Years’ Experience in Onshore HSE related field outside of drilling industry
Must possess strong analytical skills and be able to confidently communicate
Team player and must aim to continually monitor and promote all core HSE processes to Offshore Crews and Onshore Rig Management
Qualified in incident investigation and root cause identification processes
Proficiency in MS Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel…. etc.)
Effectively communicate message in either written and verbal form
Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Maintain currency and SME knowledge of industry initiatives impacting Seadrill operations (e.g., IADC, DROPS, HPOG…)
Knowledge and understanding of applicable HSE regulatory requirements
Functional knowledge and understanding of applicable customer requirements and/or bridging documents
Familiarity with Flag and Coastal State requirements and applicable International regulations (ex. ISM, IMO…etc.).

Governance and career progression:
24 months in position of Offshore Junior HSE Advisor
Completion of Seadrill Training Matrix
Complete Company Management System Compliance Quiz
Completion of Competence Matrix, verified by Area HSE Manager
Active Personal Development Plan
Minimum Appraisal rating of 'According to expectations', 'above expectations' is preferred.
Recommendation must be approved by Area HSE Manager

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
As per Seadrill training and competence directives.

Minimum Requirements
BOSIET, Offshore survival training and other training as required by the Area assigned
NEBOSH International General Certificate in OH&S or equivalent HSE certification
Must be fully COVID vaccinated and able to provide record

Preferred
Higher education qualification in HSE/Engineering or Risk Management discipline
Ability to speak other languages
