We are currently recruiting for a HSE Advisor for our Offshore Services Team based in Houston.
The HSE Advisor for our offshore service team will be responsible for advising and assisting management on all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental management in an offshore environment, including a program of initiatives to ensure that the Company fulfils its health, safety and environment objectives.
The position requires the holder to travel internationally and have the ability and flexibility to work a shift system in line with a rotation according to project needs.

Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Work closely with the US and UK Service teams in preparation for offshore projects and to support their safe completion.
- Mobilise with the offshore operational teams as required to support the planning, execution, and monitoring of JDR’s HSE program during the completion of project work scopes both offsite and offshore.
- Interface with key stakeholders across the project to support integration of HSE into planning and activities, which meet stakeholder expectations.
- Build strong relationships with project teams to ensure health and safety requirements are embedded in design.
- Develop and maintain all project HSE documentation to ensure compliance is maintained.
- Develop and implement HSE induction programs for service teams prior to mobilisation.
- Advise and assist on the best practice of Health Safety and Environment control and implementation of best initiatives as part of our continuous improvement commitment.
- Assist in carrying out risk assessments and implementation of corrective actions with management approval.
- Assist with nonconformities, incident and accident investigations, by drafting and preparing written reports for relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in the design and delivery of HSE training programs to ensure compliance against identified standards.
- Improve Safety awareness, comply with current legislation, and communicate/promote HSE standards to management and employees.
- Champion the JDR Life Saving Rules and our TH!NK Safety Behavioural observation program.
- Undertake routine inspections as they apply to HSE Standards in an offshore environment.
- Assist the UK HSE manager in conducting inspections and any internal/ external auditing processes.
Essential
- Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations for construction.
- OSHA 30 training Certificate.
- OSHA Offshore Wind Energy Certificate.
- Able to research and interpret federal, state and local rules, regulations and law pertaining to safety and environmental management.
- Computer Literacy using Microsoft Office Suite.
- HSE role experience within an offshore O&G or Renewables environment.
- Experience in dealing with Offshore Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
- Experienced in accident/incident investigation including root cause analysis.
- Comfortable in a Client facing project setting.
- Experience in compiling project execution HSE documentation and HSE reports.
- Ability to deliver HSE inductions, awareness sessions and conduct inspections and audits.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with the staff across all levels.
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- All five elements of the GLOBAL Offshore Wind (GWO) certification.
- Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS).
- NEBOSH National General Certificate as a minimum.
- Knowledge of UK & European Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and developments.
- NEBOSH or IEMA certificate in Environmental studies.
- Qualified Internal Auditor: ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 45001:2018.
- A working knowledge of environmental and maritime legislation.
- Understanding of EU and Global HSE legislation and standards as they apply to offshore working.
