- Greeting patients and families professionally and compassionately.
- Registering patients, obtaining necessary information, and verifying identification and insurance details.
- Securing signatures on consent forms, explaining their purpose.
- Verifying insurance coverage, eligibility, and processing billing information.
- Collecting co-pays and assisting with insurance-related questions.
- Documenting reasons for unsigned forms or family signatures, involving nursing staff if needed.
- Ensuring proper patient identification with armbands and notifying staff of patient arrivals.
- Supporting communication during emergency situations and maintaining department coordination.
- Performing additional duties as assigned, maintaining attendance, and complying with policies.
- Post-secondary education in medical or healthcare administration preferred.
- 0-2 years' experience in patient registration, healthcare setting, or customer service.
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of insurance verification, medical terminology, and electronic health records.
- Attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism in high-stress situations.
