Position Summary

The Camp Barge Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals aboard a remote 25-person camp barge. This role requires strong large-batch cooking skills, excellent organization, and comfort working in a marine environment.

Key Responsibilities

Meal Planning & Preparation (25-Person Camp)

• Provide hot breakfasts, packable field lunches, and hearty dinners suitable for physically demanding work.
• Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies.
• Bake breads, desserts, and prepare snacks as needed.

Inventory & Provisioning

• Follow menus based on a 25-person headcount.
• Manage food inventory to ensure adequate supply between deliveries.
• Coordinate provisioning and resupply with Camp Manager.
• Track consumption rates to ensure consistent availability of staples.

Sanitation & Compliance

• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen compliant with food safety standards.
• Monitor and log food temperatures and storage conditions.

Camp & Team Support

• Maintain a positive dining environment that supports morale.
• Assist with light housekeeping of dining and galley areas.
• Adapt to schedule changes due to weather or operational demands.

Qualifications

Required:

• Experience cooking for 25–30 people.
• Ability to manage kitchen operations following company operating procedures.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Physically capable of lifting 40-50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
• Strong teamwork and positive attitude in close-quarters living

Preferred:

• Experience in remote camps, fishing lodges, logging camps, or oilfield camps.
• Familiarity with marine galley operations.

Compensation

• $450 - $550 per day (DOE)
• 10 days on / 4 days off
• Room & board included
