Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement operations and drive strategic sourcing initiatives. You will coordinates the purchasing of direct production materials and MRO supplies as required. Measures, reports and manages the performance of supplier quality and delivery. Identifies and evaluates new supply sources, reduces materials costs by negotiation, design and/or sourcing. Participates as a member of the company Leadership Team. Duties

  • Requisitions material and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments according to job order priorities and material availability.
  • Identifies new sources of supply and evaluates their capabilities.
  • Evaluates and selects vendors with input from any necessary party to source new and improved purchased items or materials.
  • Build and maintain positive trust relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
  • Work with vendors to negotiate, renegotiate and administer contracts.
  • Ensures materials are ordered in a timely and appropriate manner to meet production needs.
  • Ensures MRO purchases are made in a timely and appropriate manner to meet all business needs.
  • Make, revise, cancel or change purchase orders. Improve terms and obtain bids where necessary, including expediting or addressing past due purchase items.
  • Review production schedules and related information. Confer with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify needed material.
  • Coordinates and schedules delivery of purchased material in accordance with required delivery dates.
  • Prepare and manage budget for the purchasing department.
  • Oversee the management of supplier/vendor product cost, quality and delivery performance.
  • Conduct research and evaluation of vendors/contracts to guarantee adherence to government requirements.
  • Keep current on market trends and unusual conditions or circumstances for the material and/or supplies being purchased.
  • Coordinates the activities of the Quality Department and suppliers regarding non-conforming product.
  • Oversee the processing of payment by invoice approvals.
  • Review and keep a good record of purchasing files and records to verify that they comply with business policies and procedures. Ensure documentation is readily available.
  • Perform all work in a safety conscious manner. Be aware of dangers and take all appropriate counter measures to protect yourself and others around you.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area consistent with the Company’s housekeeping policies.

Pay: $69,630.16 - $83,855.68 per year
