S-E-A, a national, multi-disciplinary forensic engineering firm, is adding to our Atlanta office due to growth! The ideal candidate will be curious, self-driven, a strong critical thinker and possess a strong mechanical background
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate bodily injuries or risk of injury from sports equipment, automobile accidents, mechanical and play equipment, slip/trip and falls and other exposures
- Conduct field investigations to document accident scenes and gather information that is the basis for subsequent analysis, simulation and/or testing
- Conduct unbiased investigations for various types of clients
- Retention and development of client relationships
- Provide technical findings and conclusions in layman's terms, both verbally and in writing
- Assist with staff investigations, analysis and testing
- Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks, participating in professional societies
- Perform other Perform other Biomechanical duties as necessary
- Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback into job performance
- Regular and predictable presence at work
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (or master's) in mechanical engineering
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or similar
- Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited school
- Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Biomechanics or similar
- Demonstrated work and/or academic history in impact biomechanics
- P. E. registration through testing or ability to obtain
- Education in a safety lab, public health, biomechanics and/or human factors a plus
- Must have taken Anatomy and/or Physiology
- Public speaking experience a plus
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge and desire to learn research techniques
- Time management and organizational skills
- Collaborative drive but ability to also work autonomously
- Strong attention to detail, demonstrated through work product
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel 25% of the time, mostly via car
- Ability to maneuver in and around job/incident sites
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to carry/transport equipment to and from job/incident sites
- Ability to drive to site locations in all conditions
- Ability to travel by airline
- Ability to visually inspect job sites and relevant artifacts
- Communicate effectively and professionally in both oral and written communication
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment as necessary
