Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Production Manager to oversee our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate must have experience in the marine industry and served as a finishing supervisor or production manager previously.
Responsibilities:
· Supervises day-to-day operations, trains, and develops staff members.
· Oversees, administers, supports, tracks all Quality Control efforts.
· Responsible for plant production goals and continuous improvements including the use of lean principles.
· Reports items or circumstances which may negatively impact quality and help to develop solutions to solve such issues.
· Ensures daily production schedule is met.
· Controls MRO spending.
· Manages layout of efficient use of machinery and equipment.
· Studies processes, analyzes, and improves cost of production.
· Ability to effectively communicate with employees and peers.
· Computer literate (excel, word processing)
· Strong organizational skills in record keeping, scheduling and document preparation.
· Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and report data accurately.
· Read and understand instructions.
· Works alone and stays on task while handling and prioritizing multiple projects.
· Maintain a clean and safe plant environment.
· ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
Supervisory Responsibilities
· Oversees the daily workflow of the plant: schedules and organizes staff to ensure proper staffing.
· Hires and trains new management/supervisory employees.
· Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Experience:
· Three to five years of experience as a finishing supervisor or production manager preferred.
· Three to five years of experience in the marine industry required.
