Crane Operator
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of three years experience as a Crane Operator required
- Experience with hydraulic, friction, and pile driving a plus
- NCCCO or NCCER certified for Lattice Boom Crawler Cranes
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promotes, executes, and adheres to the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental program.
- Operates multiple pieces of crane equipment used in underground construction, base preparation and construction, and paving.
- Operates cranes in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Completes Standard or Critical Lift form prior to performing required lift.
- Ensures rigging is inspected and meets the requirements to perform the lift.
- Performs daily maintenance and conducts operational safety checks of the crane before and after each use. Reports any issues to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Project Manager.
- Maneuvers crane equipment into loading and unloading positions. Follows signals from loading crew as needed. Checks that the vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
- Ensures a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
- Operates crane equipment on public roadways as necessary while maintaining proper awareness of one’s surroundings.
- Performs routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the crane equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and refilling the crane as necessary.
- Performs other duties or task as required based on company’s needs.
