Job Title: Accounting Technician
Position Summary
The Accounting Technician supports the Finance & Administration function by maintaining accurate financial records and preparing routine financial schedules. This role is responsible for recording all financial transactions, generating quarterly reporting packages, and ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation of accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare quarterly financial schedules for the Sr. Director of Finance & Administration, including:
- Actual vs. budgeted income and expenditures
- Cash flow statements
- Bank reconciliations
- Balance sheet reports
- Record all financial transactions in QuickBooks, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with tracking cash flow, monitoring spending, and identifying variances.
- Support administrative leadership by providing financial data and responding to information requests.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and standard accounting practices.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal review of entries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Work Environment
- Works closely with Finance & Administration leadership.
- Financial statements are reviewed quarterly by Administration; individual entries are not directly reviewed, requiring a high degree of accuracy and responsibility.
