This posting will be used to fill two (2) vacanciesSouth Dakota State University (SDSU) Student Life Building Services is looking for motivated individuals to join our team as a Senior Building Maintenance Worker within our University Housing department.Job Responsibilities: The purpose of this position is to provide carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and general maintenance services to repair Housing and Residential Life buildings. To be successful as a Senior Building Maintenance Worker, candidates should be self-motivated, excel in customer service and practice strong attention to detail.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of:Methods and practices used in carpentryBasic plumbingHVAC systemsBasic electricalPaints and coatingsSkill & Ability to:Read and understand construction drawings and specificationsOperate various types of power and hand tools safely and effectivelyCommunicate clearly and conciselyFollow written and verbal directionsInteract effectively and professionally with contractors, coworkers and customersOperate grounds care equipmentRequired License: Valid driver’s license is required.Comments: This position requires occasional weekends/holidays.
