The Department of Nursing at USD invites applications for a full-time Director of Clinical Experiences for the Department of Nursing. This position will be located in Sioux Falls or Vermillion. This position will be 11 months, full time. Salary and rank will be based on experience and credentials. The candidate for this position will demonstrate strong leadership skills, collaborate and work well with many departments at the University, demonstrate strong relationship skills, work effectively with practice partners and clinical faculty, and be fully committed to excellence in the delivery of nursing education. The ideal candidate will have a strong nursing background, excellent communication skills, mature interpersonal skills, demonstrate emotional intelligence and the ability to work independently.Responsibilities includes oversight of students’ clinical experience to ensure that clinical practice is relevant and provides an optimal learning experience. This position will be responsible to hire and orient clinical faculty, work collaboratively with clinical faculty to provide excellent clinical learning, ensure that all clinical instruction and experiences meet national and state requirements, demonstrate leadership skills for implementation of clinical experiences in the curriculum, and develop effective professional relationships with practice partners and nursing leaders.The successful candidate will have a current unencumbered license, eligible for licensure in South Dakota, and hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program. Exceptional written and verbal skills are essential, an ability to work well within a team, and a knowledge and passion for continuous quality improvement. Travel between Sioux Falls and Vermillion will be expected.
