Counselor Student Health Clinic and Counseling ServicesSouth Dakota State University South Dakota State University (SDSU) Student Health Clinic and Counseling Services is offering an exciting career opportunity as a Counselor. We are looking for a creative and innovative professional to join an energetic and dynamic team of professionals committed to creating a robust community environment for our students and staff where all are welcome.  This is a 12-month, 100% time, benefit eligible position. This position is supervised by the Assistant Director – Counseling.  This position consists of varying hours Monday through Friday, depending on the programs’ and student needs, with rotating evening, weekends, and holiday on-call hours.   South Dakota State University promotes access to and opportunities for all to receive the benefit of and participate in education, research, and service and is especially interested in candidates that can contribute to this land-grant mission of access. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.  Sponsorship is not available for this position.  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s Degree in counseling or a closely related field completed by first day of employment; Effective written communication skills;Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:South Dakota Licensure as LPC, LPC-MH, LMFT, MSW, or CCDC III;Demonstrated experience managing after-hours-crisis;Demonstrated experience working in a university setting;Demonstrated experience providing educational training regarding mental health;Demonstrated experience in facilitating group counseling;Demonstrated ability to work as a contributing team member.BENEFITS:South Dakota State University offers a wide range of benefits including medical, dental, and flexible benefits, retirement plans, compensation packages, paid holidays, and vacation leave.  Employees also have access to internal and state-sponsored training as well as reduced tuition for state-supported courses at all State of South Dakota academic institutions.
