Position Summary
We are seeking a safety-minded, experienced Environmental & Geotechnical Drill Operator to perform and oversee drilling operations for environmental and geotechnical projects. This hands-on field role involves operating drill rigs and associated equipment, completing detailed documentation, maintaining safety and operational standards, and traveling to project sites throughout the Midwest.
Ideal candidates will have experience operating drilling rigs (auger, direct push, etc.), a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety, precision, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate drill rigs and support equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and detailed daily drilling reports, well logs, and logbooks.
- Lead, train, and mentor drilling crew members.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and maintain required certifications.
- Utilize Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
- Conduct and document tailgate safety meetings and Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on drilling equipment.
- Foster a professional, positive work environment with crew members and clients.
- Execute additional tasks and project-specific duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of environmental or geotechnical drilling experience.
- At least 1 year of experience operating drill rigs.
- Valid driver’s license and clean Motor Vehicle Report.
- CDL Class A preferred.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus (training available).
- Ability to pass a HAZWOPER physical and drug test.
- Authorization to work in the United States
