Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Insurance Claim Coordinator to join our Risk Management team. In this role, you will provide primary support for claims processing, payment reconciliation, reporting, and other essential administrative functions. This position requires independent judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure accurate and timely management of insurance claims and risk processes.

Responsibilities
- Provides a variety of administrative support tasks to include the maintenance of electronic claim records, opening claims, and reporting to TPA or carriers.
- Interacts with internal and external customers to answer questions and supply information regarding invoice processing, and overall workers compensation claims questions.
- Prepare ad hoc, monthly, and quarterly reports as required or requested by management.
- Risk Management Notebook – Update RM Notebook after renewal and throughout the year when changes are needed through the IT Service Catalog.
- Workers Compensation – Review and process WC claims, including entering data into Riskonnect, submitting claims to the insurance carrier or handling of claims in-house within 48 hours of receiving claims.
- Process WC invoices in a timely manner.
- Work closely with Payroll and Human Resources making these departments aware of indemnity payments being made for employees missing work due to their WC injuries.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Competencies
- Knowledge of: Insurance claims processing procedures and terminology; claims management software; accounting principles and financial reporting;
- Skill in: Reviewing incidents for accuracy, communicating with insurance adjusters, processing payments, and generating reports; interacting with internal and external customers; managing tasks and problem-solving; Workers Compensation claims payment reconciliation; accuracy and attention to detail; Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint teams and Copilot; administrative assistance with organization of meetings.
- Ability to: Maintain electronic claim records, including opening, reporting and monitoring claims with TPAs, and/or carriers; Respond to inquiries and provide information regarding invoices, processing, and overall claims processing to internal and external customers; generate ad hoc, monthly, and quarterly reports as required by management; work independently and as part of a team; prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines; working with confidential information while maintaining confidentiality; process large amounts of invoices and maintain records in shared one drive.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in insurance claims processing or a related field.
- Experience leading reconciliation processes and working with financial data highly preferred.
- Must pass a criminal history background check.
