Position Summary & Objective:
The Dan Beard Council is hiring a full-time Community Scouting Executive. The Executive is a critical role that oversees the operations of a service area and supports Scouting within several communities in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Area. The position reports to a manager who supports a team of 8-10 community Scouting Executives. It is a full-time position with the flexibility to work from home and within your service area. The Executive travels locally to visit local chapters and meet with volunteers and other committees to execute annual plans. The Scouting professional's job is to inspire, recruit as well as train youth and adults, have fun, and support volunteers while collaborating with community leaders and rallying public support for Scouting.
Summary of Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with a volunteer board of directors and other community and business leaders to identify, recruit, train, guide, and inspire volunteers to become involved in Scouting.
2. Collaborate with volunteers to extend Scouting programs within your service area to community-based and religious based organizations.
3. Collaborate with volunteers to secure adequate financial support for programs within your area.
4. Serve as a positive role model. Recognize the importance of working relationships with other professionals and volunteers.
5. Provide quality service through timely communication, regular meetings, training events, and activities.
Measurements:
1. Membership growth, including new market penetration and retention/membership churn rate.
2. New member recruitment, including lead conversion rate.
3. Fundraising and revenue growth.
Qualifications:
1. Initiative-taking with solid time management skills and strong organizational skills.
2. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
3. Must maintain a valid driver's license and have an automobile with vehicle insurance.
4. Must be people-oriented, collaborating with adult volunteers, community and business leaders, and representatives of other organizations.
5. Able to work some evenings and weekends when necessary to achieve positive objectives.
6. Demonstrated mastery in the entire Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience in Blackbaud Nonprofit Software is a plus.
7. Believe in the Scouting program and subscribe to its principles and standards.
Additional Desired Skills:
1. Comfortable with public speaking and interacting with diverse audiences. Prior club/organization involvement and leadership are a plus.
2. Committed to personal and professional productivity while maintaining high ethical and professional working standards.
3. Non-profit, fundraising, sales, or marketing experience is a plus but not required.
4. A Scouting background is helpful but not required.
