About The Role
The Plant Engineer for the Goodland Crush Plant is responsible for improving and optimizing our processes and managing capital projects. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues by utilizing engineering and project management skills to support operational improvements and ongoing construction projects. This position is responsible for identifying and helping to implement process improvements for production in all facets of operation through direct contributions of project development from conception though start-up utilizing engineering and performance excellence principles to operate, troubleshoot, and improve chemical and mechanical processes. It is also responsible for assisting in managing day to day operations, tracking, and understanding department costs, yields, quality, and process performance.

Job Responsibilities
- Identify process improvement opportunities, develop solutions, and lead the implementation of solutions. Conduct optimization assessments to identify existing and potential opportunities, propose solutions to improve performance primarily in the areas of energy, chemicals, product yields, and reliability
- Identifies safety and environmental needs and requirements, and ensures such considerations are included in the development and modification of facilities.
- Analyzes existing processes for cost savings, reliability, and performance improvement opportunities.
- Interacts with maintenance, controls, process, and quality personnel in planning for and the development of process improvements.
- Oversight of specific processes and projects
- Responsible for assisting in managing day to day operations, tracking, and understanding department costs, yields, quality, and process performance.
- B.S. in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Ag Preferred) or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience in a food processing production environment or similar industry.
- 3 years of experience in oilseed crush.
- Strong commitment to safety & quality.
- Demonstrated leadership, strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to look beyond the task at hand, to anticipate challenges and develop options to overcome them.
- Solvent or hexane experience.
- Previous leadership experience.
