What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optician/Optometric Tech position at Scottsdale Center For Sig?
- Designs, fits and dispenses corrective lenses, eyewear and low vision aids based on physicians prescriptions
- Operates manual lens meters and tools to achieve proper fittings
- Educates patients on correct use of lens and options of frames
- Manages inventory of frames. May communicate with doctors for any concerns about prescriptions
- Conduct initial testing for patients using optical equipment, to prepare them and the doctor for an exam
- Be able to operate retinal camera, manual/auto lensometer, retinal camera, visual field, and other optical equipment
- Display basic knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, and symptoms
- Comply with all mandated policies and procedures
