North Ridge Men's & Marriage Pastor (Director)

As the North Ridge Men’s & Marriage Pastor you are a vital part of the Team, responsible for carrying on the Vision, Mission and Values of SBC. In this role, you will report to the North Ridge Campus Pastor and are responsible for supporting, encouraging, and transforming families to live in authentic Christian community and to be more fully reflective of Christ.

Your Essential Responsibilities:

In this position, you will assist the North Ridge Campus Pastor and partner with the North Ridge Adult Ministry Coordinators to:

• Ensure that the North Ridge Campus Men’s & Marriage Ministry vision supports SBC’s Vision, Mission, and Values
• Create and communicate the comprehensive vision of Men’s & Marriage Ministry to North Ridge Campus staff and volunteers engaged in the ministries
• Engage and direct volunteer leaders for the North Ridge Campus Men’s & Marriage Ministry teams
• Guide couples/parents to model their marriage after God’s Word (through training, encouraging, and counseling)
• Teach and train young men in the biblical foundation for marriage
• Support Preparing for Marriage for SBC and work with the Men’s & Marriage Pastors from each campus and the Adult Central Coordinator team on the planning and ongoing delivery of the curriculum
• Support the annual Men’s Retreat and engage with the Men’s & Marriage Pastors from each campus and the Adult Coordinator team to plan and execute the retreat
• Create and host North Ridge Campus outreach events for men and couples
• Engage men and couples into an authentic community through North Ridge Campus Men’s or Marriage programming and events
• Establish and monitor annual North Ridge Campus Men’s & Marriage ministry budgets and spending wisely
• Be responsible for the ongoing recruitment, training, and appreciation of volunteers for the ministry
• Commitment to developing volunteers who move through the PEO process – Participation, Engagement and Ownership
• Maintain updated serving teams of all your volunteers in Rock

Other Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Ministry Leader for Scottsdale Bible Church and works alongside other ministries giving support and encouragement and being a team player
• Assist SBC’s broader pastoral team in the development of church-wide ministry goals
• Available for hospital visitations, presiding over wedding and funeral services, and family emergencies
• Available for Pastor of the Day (POD) duties
• Available to other church ministries as a resource and assistance
• Available to teach Sunday community groups, small groups, and other opportunities as appropriate
• Hosts Worship Services as needed
• Related duties or special projects as assigned

Skills you need to succeed:

• Proficient knowledge of the Bible and theology
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Comfortable with learning new database systems and virtual platforms

• Speak before large or small men’s/couple’s groups with practical application of God’s Word

• Recruit volunteers and delegate well
• Practice conflict resolution with a grace approach
• Maintain flexibility at all times
• Work on Sundays

• Regular attender and SBC member, or willing to become a member

Education and/or experience:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• If desiring a Pastor/Minister title, a Master's degree (or working toward) from an accredited seminary or equivalent (MA, MDiv, ThM) preferred*
• 5 years' experience in a similar ministry role preferred

*While not immediately required, this position may require successful completion of seminary education as part of the ongoing training process and/or requirement for continued employment.

This position requires in-office work and does not qualify for a remote arrangement.

Church Membership is required for most paid positions.
