SUMMARY
Scott Enterprises is seeking creative and innovative candidates for a Junior Graphic Designer role within the company’s corporate Marketing Department. The Junior Graphic Designer will have the opportunity to represent an exciting mix of businesses within the hospitality industry, including Peek’n Peak Ski Resort, Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park, a variety of restaurant and hotel locations, The Ambassador Banquet & Conference Center and an upcoming mixed-use development, Harbor Place. The role will primarily include design work in print advertising, web graphics, promotional signage and published materials. Scott Enterprises is a third-generation family-owned hospitality company which is a leader in the Northwest Pennsylvania region.
GRAPHIC DESIGNER KEY ROLES:
- DELIGHT WITH DESIGN: Your creative work will be displayed to millions of potential guests. Your design goals will be to attract potential customers, engage long-time patrons and express the energy and excitement of the experiences we provide to guests. Be proud and excited to see your concepts displayed on billboards, websites, building facades, broadcast commercials and more.
- WORKS WELL WITH OTHERS: You will work directly with members of our company’s diverse management team. You will assess the management team’s needs from an operational stand-point, then work alongside the Marketing Team to create visual solutions. We are looking for a someone who is creative, collaborative, and open to constructive feedback and art/creative critiques of their work.
- BE YOUR OWN BOSS: You will ultimately be responsible for balancing your projects. Our team utilizes a web-based project management system (Monday.com), and you are expected to monitor your assignment deadlines, and manage several projects in a fast-paced environment. You will work with the Senior Marketing Manager to prioritize your task lists and create a game plan to deliver timely results.
- KEEP IT TIDY: You will share projects, files, graphics and ideas with multiple team members. It is vital that you possess organizational skills, great file management, an attention to detail and an ability to follow department procedures to make working collaboratively smooth and efficient.
- TOOLS OF THE TRADE: You should be very familiar & experienced with the Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Additionally, a familiarity with video and animation software including After Effects, or Premiere Pro could prove useful.
- CREATIVE KNOW HOW: Demonstrate fundamental design principles, including typography, color theory, layout, grids, perspective and space relationships, photography, iconography, and illustration.
- SHOW OFF: On occasion, you will be asked to present your design concepts to operational teams, company ownership and your fellow team members. Welcome feedback and critiques of your work to ensure the final product is the best possible version for the best possible outcome.
- MAKE IT HAPPEN: When final designs are approved, you must be efficient in preparing files for print and digital production, placing orders and working with outside vendors to see the project to completion – including reviewing printer proofs and following up as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:

- 1- 2 years of visual design experience
- Bachelor’s degree in visual design or related field or equivalent experience
- Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment, handling multiple projects at once

- Excellent time management skills
- Strong file organization and management
