ABOUT US

Scott Schofield Construction is a growing excavation company based right outside of Park City, Utah. We specialize in custom mountain homes along the Wasatch Mountains and surrounding areas, with experience in commercial and residential development, along with underground utilities including mainline water and sewer. We are a family-owned, smaller company with large company benefits. With 28 years of experience, we are considered one of the most respected excavation companies, in one of the world’s fastest growing and well-known locations. We have an 8000 square foot shop, on 40 acres, equipped with all the equipment needed from balancing tires, to complete engine overhaul. When the job calls for immediate repairs on site, our service truck equipped with generator, welder, air compressor and crane are ready to get our machines and trucks back up and running. Our operators enjoy the benefits of a company truck, stocked with the tools needed for the job, that they get to take back and forth from home to work. We strive to keep our equipment and vehicles well maintained and updated. Our fleet consists of: Komatsu, Cat, and Kubota equipment. Kenworth and Peterbilt dump trucks and tractors. Our pickup trucks are GMC, Ford and Dodge with both gas and diesel engines. Most of our trucks are under 100k miles, and our equipment under 8k hours. We take pride in keeping our fleet updated and rotated.

REQUIREMENTS

We are seeking a heavy equipment operator with 10 years of experience. Expertise in the following areas are a requirement:

-Operating heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers and compaction equipment

-Must be able to read and interpret civil and foundation plans

-Must be able to read grade stakes, and to set up grades based on stakes and plans

-Must be able to dig and backfill complex foundations on uneven terrain, with the ability to schedule trucking and material needs

-Must be able to install residential utilities. Main line (water, sewer, storm drain, power) a plus

-Ability to build retaining walls (Rock, block, gabion)

-Must be able to communicate with clients, supervisors, coworkers, and other subcontractors

-Be willing to perform basic maintenance and repairs on equipment

-Must be able to use electronics to access plans, fill out timecards, and other job related information (iPad provided, smart phone preferred)

-Driver’s license and clean MVR required in order to operate company vehicles

- Must be able to show up on time, ready to work, and self-motivated to get the job done in a timely manner and done correctly

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily responsibilities include:

-Arrive at the job site at approved time

-Set up and layout job site (grades, utilities, laborers)

-Track time and work performed on provided IPad

-Coordinate with on site superintendents, company supervisors, and coworkers for daily needs and scheduling materials, equipment and manpower

-Excavate for foundations, install underground utilities (wet and dry), backfill foundations, site grading, hardscape prep, retaining wall,

-Work with employees in the shop to coordinate repairs and maintenance

-All other activities associated with excavation
