Duties
- Operate lawn mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, and other power tools to maintain lawns and landscaped areas
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, mulching, and edging to keep outdoor spaces healthy and attractive
- Identify various plants, shrubs, trees, and flowers to ensure proper care and health of landscape features
- Conduct tree care activities such as trimming, pruning, and removal with proper safety procedures
- Use hand tools and heavy equipment like excavators for landscape installation or renovation projects
- Apply pesticides responsibly following safety guidelines to protect plants from pests and diseases
- Maintain hardscape features such as pathways, patios, retaining walls, and other structures with precision and care
- Perform snow plowing during winter months to keep pathways safe and accessible
- Assist with construction projects related to landscape design or renovation under supervision
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of lawn equipment, power tools, and irrigation systems
- Extensive experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, and lawn care practices
- Ability to identify plants accurately and understand horticultural principles
- Knowledge of pesticide management for safe application and environmental compliance
- Construction experience with hardscape installation or renovation preferred
- Familiarity with tree care techniques including trimming and removal safety protocols
- Skilled in operating hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners along with larger machinery like excavators
- Good understanding of horticulture principles to promote healthy plant growth
- Ability to perform snow plowing efficiently during winter months for property safety
- Excellent attention to detail in landscape design elements including planting beds and hardscape features
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions with a proactive attitude toward safety
